Strang's memorandum on the Strang family history, as well as a photocopy of an edited version of the document taken from Doyle Fitzpatrick's The King Strang story. The memorandum was written by Strang in 1819 and describes the persecution of the Protestant D'Estrange family in France and their emigration to America. It also includes a list of D'Estrange's children

John H. Strang (1785-1878) was a farmer in Yorktown, Westchester, New York, and a descendant of Daniel d'Estrange. He married Elizabeth Ann Purdy of Yorktown on September 20, 1812, and together they had three children. Strang died in Yorktown in 1878.
