Organization method
Files are primarily in their original order (none in particular, with no series), with the exception of the files on Albert King Thurber's children; these are organized according to which wife was their mother, then in order of birth.
Ownership
Collection was donated in two parts. Albert King Thurber's missionary diary and personal notebook, leather wallet cover, hand-drawn map, and other biographical documents came from descendant Robert Edward Sanderson. All of the research files were donated by MaryAnne Butler Ashton, who obtained many of them from historian Bill Hartley, it seems, then added to them herself. Both segments were acquired in May 2012.
