  • BYU copy lacks blank leaves *1, **8, and 10.
  • An illuminated initial appears on leaf [17a] with a miniature of St. Augustine's vision of the City of God. The British Museum copy call for woodcut initials and a woodcut border on leaf [17]; these do not appear in the BYU copy.
  • BYU copy has leaf with a new outer margin; the first leaf is remargined on all sides with red line borders. The colophon leaf is backed and remargined also with red line borders. The text is not affected.
  • Purchased from Bernard M. Rosenthal, who feels that the miniature as well as the initial are of the period 1540-1550. Paul Needham says they are probably 18th cent.
  • When acquired by library, bound in 18th century diced russian calfskin, rebacked. Rebound by Harold B. Lee Library conservation dept. 1997 by Robert Espinosa in 1/4 tanned red Nigerian goadskin over mahagony; clasps.
