Note
  • Bound in blind-stamped black calf signed by the London bookbinder G.R. The panels on the sides are one of the two pair used by him and one of 14 examples known to Oldham and used between 1526 and 1535. The panel on the front cover consists of four full-length figures of Saints in compartments, each beneath a canopy: (1) An archbishop in robes and mitre who is probably St. Claude; (2) Ste. Barbara holding a palm-branch and a book; (3)Ste. Katherine with sword and book; (4) John Evangelist holding the cup from which the serpent issued. On either side of St. John are the binder's initials. The panel on the back cover includes the Royal Tudor arms, surmounted by a crown and supported by Dragon and greyhound, with tufts of herbage and a long spary behind the greyhound; sun and moon in the upper part, and two small escutcheons bearing the arms of the City of London and the cross of St. George.
  • With this is bound the author's Fascicvlvs Calvmniarvm, sannarvm et illvsionvm Martini Lvtheri.[Lipsiae, M.D. XXIX.] the author's Antiqva regvm Italiae Gothicae gentis.
