Summary
Collection contains a variety of correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia mostly related to his role as the "Candy Bomber." One box includes parachutes used to drop candy to children during the Berlin Airlift of 1948-1949. The materials, dated from 1954 to 2004, relate to Havorsen's military career and the recognition and numerous awards he received for his kind actions during the Berlin Airlift. Also included is documentation for his autobiography "the Berlin Candy Bomber," which he published in 1990. Some of the letters and articles are in German.
