Summary
Contains the transcript of an oral interview conducted in 1985 wherein Brown relates his experience of being interred in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Mukden, Manchuria for nearly one hundred days. Describes the living conditions, sanitation, treatment by guards, morale, and the role that Brown's upbringing in the LDS church had in his determination to survive. Includes a letter from Brown to his parents shortly after he arrived in the United States following his liberation. Also includes a handwritten account of a spiritual experience Brown had in the POW camp during Christmas. Contains a brief history of Brown's life, as well as two telegrams: one notifying Brown's family that he was missing in action and the other notifying them of his capture and internment. Photographs show Brown in full military dress and a display of his military paraphernalia
